LINK 2.0 has been, in many ways, as influential to my future as LINK 1.0 was. in my first LINK internship, I was taken aback by the fact that people turn writing into a legitimate career, and I was less focused on the type of writing that I was interested in. Since LINK 1.0, I have been through a process of re meeting myself, and this took the manifestation of poetry. My writing has come out in poetic form, and as I became less and less involved with LINK 2.0, I became more and more involved in my poetry. I have had a grand shift in my writing focus since the start of my LINK 2.0 internship, from journalistic writing practice, which is selfless and tight, to poetry, which is personal, and loose. I am proud that I figured out this aspect of my writing before I went to college, and the LINK 2.0 process led me to apply to several creative writing programs across the country, and the world.
Going forward, I am planning on using the skills that I learned through studying BCIU courses and social media practice to further my senior project. I am planning on self publishing and promoting a book, and in a way, LINK 2.0 has set me up for this process. I have also learned the importance in establishing online content, and making a presence for myself on the internet. I suspect the internet will be a quintessential tool in my future exploration of writing.
